If The Court Already Sent It Back
A rejected filing rarely means you did something badly wrong. It's usually a missing form, a wrong box, a signature in the wrong place, or a San Francisco County requirement that wasn't in the instructions you were following.
Send me the rejection notice and what you filed. I'll tell you what went wrong and what it takes to correct it.
This is a good fit if
- You started the paperwork and got stuck
- The court rejected your filing
- You want every form checked before it's submitted
- You'd rather pay attorney rates for advice, not admin
It may not be the right fit if
- Your case is genuinely contested
- There's an active custody fight or a spouse who won't respond
In those situations you need an attorney, not a document preparer. I'll tell you on our call.
How It Works
You hand off whatever you already have. I tell you what your situation actually requires, prepare it, and file it.

One Person, Working With Both Of You
I'm Bronwyn Galloway. I've worked in San Francisco's legal community since 1995, first in law offices, and since 2019 leading Divorce With Dignity in San Francisco.
I hold a law degree and a master's in social psychology, and I'm a registered Legal Document Assistant. Registered LDAs are authorised to prepare legal documents for people representing themselves. You'll work with me directly.
How I help
- Tell you exactly which documents your case needs
- Prepare and file every one of them
- Help you settle terms still open, as a neutral party
Where my role ends
- I'm not an attorney and don't give legal advice
- I can't tell you whether to accept a settlement
- I don't represent either spouse or appear in court
That neutrality is what allows one person to work with both of you.
What's Included In The Flat Fee
- A review of anything you've already filed or prepared
- A clear answer on what went wrong, if something did
- Child support calculations, when children are involved
- Preparation of your settlement and all required court forms
- Filing with the court, with updates until your divorce is final
$2,500 flat for a complete divorce filing. Other family law documents are $275 an hour, quoted before I start. Court filing fees of $430–$800 are paid separately to the court.

★★★★★
Our whole divorce process was handled with care and dignity by Bronwyn from start to finish. It was easier and a lot smoother than I thought it was going to be. I would highly recommend anyone considering mediation over lawyers to do it.
Common Questions
Can You Help If I've Already Filed?
Yes. That is most of this work. Send me what you filed and any notice you received back.
Why Was My Filing Rejected?
Most often a missing form, an incomplete financial disclosure, a signature or date in the wrong place, or a San Francisco County requirement that wasn't in the instructions you followed. I'll identify which it was.
How Long Does A Correction Take?
Usually days. A full divorce prepared from scratch takes about three months.
Are You An Attorney?
No. I am a California registered Legal Document Assistant. I prepare legal documents for people representing themselves. I do not give legal advice and do not represent either spouse.
Do I Have To Go To Court?
Not for an uncontested divorce.
What If My Spouse Has A Lawyer?
That happens and it's fine. I prepare your documents. I don't argue against anyone.
What's Included In The $2,500 Fee?
Preparation of every required court form, your settlement and judgment packet, filing with the court, and updates until your divorce is final.
How Much Are Court Filing Fees?
Between $430 and $800, paid directly to the court rather than to me. A fee waiver may be available depending on income.
What If We Have Children?
I prepare the child support calculations and parenting plan, provided you both agree on the terms. An active custody dispute needs an attorney.
What If We Own A Home Or Have Retirement Accounts?
Both are common and both are handled. I prepare the documents needed to divide or transfer them once you have agreed on how.
What Happens To Our Home If It's Held In A Living Trust?
Property held in a living trust is handled, and it is a common situation in San Francisco.
The trust is separate from the divorce itself. Usually the property is transferred out of the trust so it can be divided according to your agreement, or the trust is amended to reflect the new arrangement. Your judgment records who receives what, and the trust documents are then updated to match.
I prepare the divorce documents. Amending or restating the trust is legal work, so I will tell you plainly if an estate attorney needs to handle that part. It is normally a limited, one-off cost.
Is My Case Too Complicated?
Tell me on the call. If it is beyond document preparation, I will say so rather than take the work.
